PPP_The business of Design:

Uk economy: 

 - 7th largest in the world
 - 3rd largest of Europe
 - One of the most globalised countries
 - London is the largest financial equal with new york
 - Largest industries aerospace - pharmaceutical, north sea oil and gas

What is an industry sector:

Goods producing segment of an Economy - area of the economy in which businesses share the same or related products service 

An industry or market sharing the common Characteristics 

Primary sector:

- The primary sector of the economy extracts and harvests products from the earth.
: Activities associated with the primary sector include 

Secondary Sector -
: The secondary sector of the economy manufactures Finished goods 

Tertiary Sector- The tertiary sector of the economy is the service industry 
- Retail, Whole sale, Transportation......

Quaternary Sector - The Quaternary sector of the economy consists of interlectualy activities
- Libraries, Scientific 

Why are industry sector Important?
- Allows a much more in depth analysis of the economy as a whole, any economy can be divided into sectors. 

Why do i need to be aware of economic sectors: 

What your design is aimed at (sector) 
To look at competition - 
To look at what people are not  doing to find a gap in the market:
To keep an eye on where the money is - or where it will be in a few years.

The Service Industries:
An industry is made up of companies and organisations that primarily generate revenue through providing intangible products or services 

Service industry companies are involved in retail transport distribution.

Public Sector: 

The public sector usually provides services that are free at the point of delivery and a non payer cannot be excluded from such as street lighting and emergency services

These services services are often a benefit the society as a whole rather than just an individual,  

Private Sector:

The part of the economy that is not state controlled and is run by individuals and for company profit 

Driven by private enterprise and investment, it includes the personal sector and the and the corporate sector.

Third Sector: 

The part of the economy - Charities
