10x statements
Developing my presentation skills, this will allow me to function more effectively as a designer coming across much more professional this will benefit me massively, if a project is presented well and with confidence the audience/ clients will instantly engage.
Experience is the most important aspect in my opinion, by gaining this experience i feel this would give me a greater understanding of what it is like to be working with the industry, i aim to work with large corporate companies and smaller studios this will give a much greater understanding of where i see myslef fitting in within the industry.
Collaborating this will not only benefit me in the future as working with peers will be similar to what i will be doing affter graduation, sharing ideas is great for idea generation. and this could even be something that is carried on after the course.
Developing an online name, peers on the course have really benifted from having an online base, i feel this is a necessity and i will be creating an online personality soon, This is great for clients to contact you and also just gets your work out into the industry in my opinion this is one of the greatest forms of industrial experience
Freelance work, i feel this will come with the development of an online presence this allows companies to see your work and to then contact you if they are interested, this is something that i aim to do along side the course. by getting involved with freelance work this allows me to gain a great understanding of industrial experience i know that balancing social life with work is hard but i aim to work for a company full time and to then engage in freelance work on the side i feel that starting now will cause no harm.
Confidence - I aim to develop my presentation skills so that i am able present my self and my work as a professional
I aim to engage in projects that will develop my personal and professional practice, developing my skills that i aim to pursue for example i aim to select a live brief that will allow me to experiment with advertising as this is something i want to go into.
I will make sure to engage in any opportunity to see visiting professionals as this does not only give me a look into what it is like working within the industry, but this allows me to ask any questions that i want the answer to.
I will produce a brand for myself, this will come in the form of business cards and can be used to brand any work that i produce on the course, this will not only be great for my professionalism but it can be used to give people an insight into what my design is about and also about me personally.
I must make sure to engage in as much exhibitions and festivals, this not only allows me to view designers work and to listen to what the professionals say. but it gives me an inside look into what i could be going into after i graduate, what i should take into consideration.
